A string of overnight crashes killed two people and critically injured two pedestrians. Derrick Oates was struck by a volkswagen Passat as he was walking across the street at the 8300 block of Fredericksburg Road. Oates was hospitalized in critical condition at University Hospital.
A few hours later a woman was killed after her silver Honda Accord caught fire during a five car pileup along 410 just north of southcross.
An hour later Joel Unate walked in front of a green 1998 Chevrolet s-10 truck that was traveling north along south flores street at w w white rd and was run over.

An adult and two children were critically injured in a crash in New Braunfels at midday Friday. The victims were flown to University Hospital after the accident, which occurred on Interstate 35 near Kohlenberg Road, an Airlife dispatcher.
Motorist said southbound traffic was at a standstill for about an hour while officials cleared the scene.

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car while running across a North Side Highway late saturday. Witnesses saw the man trying to cross eastbound lanes of traffic on loop 410, near interstate 10 around 1140pm.
The driver of a black Honda swerved to avoid striking the man but was unable to and the two collided. The driver of the Honda stopped at the scene and called 911 and in not expected to face charges.

A man was airlifted to San Antonio military medical center sunday afternoon fter he suffered third degree burns in a trailer fire in East Bexar County.
The man, in his 60′s was the only occupant at the trailer located in the 9700 block of Loop 106. The victim was severely burned when he jumped from the trailer. The blaze appeared to be an accident.

An unidentified San Antonio police officer was in critical condition at University Hospital Sunday night after he was hit by a truck as he helped a fellow officer with an accident on the city’s Northwest Side.
SAPD chief William McManus said the five year veteran traffic officer was helping set up cones to divert traffic from a collision on the access road at Loop 410 and Evers Road after 6pm.
The officer saw the truck headed toward him and ran onto the median where the vehicle struck him and knocked him into the outside traffic lane.

An SUV injured two pedestrians, one was critically injured on monday night.
Police report Venancio Salazar and Catarino Diaz were taken to University Hospital after the crash around 7pm on Fredericksburg Road near Vance Jackson Road.
Salazar remains on life support, . Diaz sustained minor injuries. The men were not in a crosswalk when struck police said. A woman driving the suv told police she didn’t see Salazar or Diaz until the collision occurred. She is not expected to face criminal charges.
